LOCATION
Ideally located along the scenic Garden Route, a half-hour drive from George airport, is the quaint and temperate town of Mossel Bay.

The town boasts a range of excellent restaurants and coffee shops complimented by the 120-store Langeberg Mall. George’s state-of-the-art Medi-Clinic hospital, located within a short drive from the Monte Christo Retirement Village, provides residents with access to medical care beyond the scope of the caring facilities available at the Village, should this be required.

A number of cultural treasures can be found in Mossel Bay and surrounds. Museums in the area include the Bartolomeu Dias Museum, the George and Hartenbos Museums and the CP Nel Museum in Oudtshoorn, while under-the-radar wine estates in the Langkloof region north of the Outeniqua mountains will delight wine enthusiasts.

The un-spoilt nature of the region makes whale-watching, sailing chartered yachts, boat trips around Seal Island and relaxing on pristine beaches a reality. Other activities enjoyed by local people include hiking, mountain biking, golf and bowls. Golf enthusiasts are spoiled for choice and can take advantage of some of the country’s finest golf courses. World-renowned courses nearby include Fancourt and Pinnacle Point, to mention but a few.

Nature lovers can explore the nearby game farms and nature reserves such as Botlierskop, home to buffalo, zebra and a large variety of smaller game, or simply enjoy one of the many scenic Garden Route drives. The Hartenbos holiday resort is also in close proximity, boasting its natural lagoon and immaculate, sandy beach.
